More than gorillas: the Uganda most people never hear about

Almost everyone arrives at Uganda through the gorillas, and they are worth every step. But they are the smallest of its wonders. In one small country, the size of Great Britain, live more than 1,000 kinds of bird, two dozen of them found nowhere else on Earth. The longest river on the planet begins here, at Jinja. There is snow on the equator, on the Rwenzori, the mountains a Greek geographer named 2,000 years ago.

It is the youngest country on Earth, and it still crowns kings, among them the youngest reigning monarch in the world, crowned at three. Lions climb into the fig trees. The giants, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, are coming back from the edge.

This is what the brochure could not hold, and what these pages are for. Wander them. Then, if Uganda starts calling, tell us what you would love to see.

Come and explore Uganda.

Tell us what you would love to see, and we will plan the journey with you.
